Most TV programmes made nowadays are produced and broadcast in widescreen format. Widescreen gives a more realistic view and digital technology has made widescreen TV even better. If you like watching films on TV, using an old-fashioned 4:3 ratio screen can be very disappointing. Although virtually all new domestic TVs are now widescreen models, anyone looking for a 12V portable TV will usually be offered no choice: it’s a 4:3 ratio screen size or nothing.

Now, a Dutch company is producing 16:9 widescreen TVs in a range of sizes and with features which make them ideal for use in motorhomes, caravans, boats and other vehicles.
